Autumn Entertainment on Offer in Inverness

Autumn on an Inverness street

The autumn has arrived in full force here in Inverness, providing some spectacular changes to our natural surroundings, with the woods and hills across our area an amazing palate of seasonal hues that must be seen to be believed.

But that is not all that the season has brought to the City in the Highlands – as we prepare for a range of autumnal entertainment in Inverness with something on offer for all the family!

Ness Islands Halloween Show

Spooky shot of an Inverness Landmark

Today (Friday October 26th) and tomorrow (Saturday October 27th) will see the Inverness Festivals Halloween Show, one of Scotland’s biggest annual fancy dress events, being staged on the city’s Ness Islands.

The local beauty spot of bridge-linked river islands, will host Haunted – a spooky spectacular with free admission for everyone.

Youngsters (and the young at heart!) are invited to dress up for the occasion and witness as the local witches flee the area following a problem spell which has caused the earth to open and free all sorts of creatures from the underworld.

Produced by the Highland Council’s Lighting Department, Arts in Motion, Eden Court Creative and Fly Agaric, Haunted promises a memorable spooky season outing for all and runs from 6.30pm to 8.30pm both days.

Inverness Bught Park Bonfire Night

Bught Park Fireworks Display Information

Then, just over a week later, the festivals team provides another great reason to visit Inverness with the annual Inverness Bonfire and Fireworks Display in the city’s Bught Park.

Starting from 7pm the evening will incorporate entertainment from Fly Agaric Fire Jugglers, the Inverness Youth Pipe Band and the Falcon Drummers and will see the judging of the 2012 Primary Schools Guy Competition before the musical fireworks display provides a fitting finale.

Visitors are advised that only disabled parking is provided and are asked to make alternative travel arrangements, as well as wrapping up warm for what promises to be a truly sensational seasonal show!
