Inverness – a Great Destination for Relaxation!

FEBRUARY can be a funny time, the festivities of the holiday season are well behind us and summer with all its accompanying excitement seems a long way off – which is why this month we are taking the opportunity to encourage people to relax and enjoy themselves here in Inverness.

We know that relaxation is a personal thing – for some people there is no better way to unwind than by hurtling full speed down a snow covered mountain, others like to explore the outdoors and discover new walks amongst nature, while for many a bit of retail therapy or a little treat can do the trick!

Luckily for residents and visitors in Inverness, our city really does have it all! Take a look at just a few of the options for relaxing and recharging in and around the Highland Capital!

Relaxing Activities in and Around Inverness

Whatever you personal relaxation preference, Inverness can offer something to suit.

If you want to stay in the the city then head for Inverness Leisure where you can choose to take advantage of the leisure pools, climbing wall and gym facilities or simply unwind at the health suite and spa, complete with sauna, steam room, spa bath and spray tanning.   Alternatively try the nearby Inverness Ice Centre, where skating and curling are on offer for those who want to really “chill” out. For family fun consider a bit of ten pin bowling in Inverness at the Rollerbowl – open daily from 11am.

Inverness Shopping Mall – the Eastgate Centre

Prefer to relax by treating yourself, try a little retail therapy at the Highlands premium shopping destination, the Eastgate Centre, or browse the many boutique-style stores in the city centre and Victorian Market, or, if pampering is your thing, choose from a number of spa and beauty salons in and around Inverness.

Relaxing Days Out

Outside the city you are spoiled for choice. For those who think relaxing is something to be worked at there is easy access to everything outdoorsy – canoeing, kayaking,  hiking, horseriding, cycling and mountainbiking as well as four amazing local golf courses offering world class play close to the city centre.

There’s also a great selection of relaxing days out withing easy reach taking in everything from the legendary Loch Ness to centuries-old castles as well as boat trips, beaches and much, much more.

Whether you want to stay in the city, or explore the surrounding area, we are certain Inverness can offer a relaxation option that will fit the bill – in fact, we’ve so much relaxation on offer in the area, you might need a break to recover from it all!
