Zombies, Skaters and VJs – Inverness Youth Work Showcase

Zombie makeovers, VJing and indoor skateboarding are just some of the activities on offer to young people in Inverness today as the city hosts the first ever Youth Highland Celebration of Youth Work.

Leaders and members of youth organisations from across the Highlands will come together in Inverness today for this unique event celebrating the sector.  Hosted by Youth Highland, this hands-on youth work showcase will take place at the Ironworks venue on Academy Street from  3pm to 9pm bringing together organisations from across the spectrum of activities available in the Highlands, with young people from the area invited to attend.

Youth Leaders Networking in Inverness

As well as training taster sessions for organisers, leaders and members, the event will comprise opportunities for networking helping to strengthen the links between youth groups in and around Inverness.

With groups travelling from across the area to take part in this youth work showcase, there will also be an opportunity for guests to get hands-on with a range of activities available to young people in our area including:

  • Indoor skate ramps, with Alvin from Highland Skate Parks Association.
  • Creative writing sessions
  • Stop frame animation
  • Zombie makeover workshops
  • Try your hand at VJing

Highland Youth to Showcase their Skills

Youth Highland will hold their AGM during the event, after which musicians and dancers from across the area will take to the stage to showcase their skills in an all singing, all dancing celebration of our area’s talent.
