INVERNESS - A REAL SHOPPING EXPERIENCE

Inverness is one of the busiest and most attractive shopping centres in Scotland, combining  market town traditions with contemporary shopping par excellence. Inverness is one of the most sought after retail locations in the UK.

THE CITY CENTRE

Inverness High Street and Victorian Market provide a diversity of shopping experiences with many top chain stores in the city centre and the nearby Eastgate Centre, whilst a wide range of specialist retailers are found in and around the market. Products on display throughout the city include outdoor clothes and equipment, knitwear, books, music and crafts from all over Scotland. Many shops also sell Traditional Highland Goods including food and drink products, kilts and tartan goods, jewellery, ornaments and local artwork.

  • The High Street is always busy, interesting and welcoming. Pedestrianised to provide a safe shopping experience its award-winning floral displays ensure lots of summer colour. Street entertainers including Highland Pipers are often on hand to add to the buzz.

  • The Victorian Market is a covered arcade linking the city's busiest streets. A great place to wander - take your time to discover everything from specialist jewellers and Highland fashions to traditional merchants such as fishmongers and butchers.

  • The Eastgate Centre is the city's flagship retail centre and home to many large national chain stores. The centre has a large animated clock - great fun when it strikes the hour. There is also a large car park to complement other city centre parking.

 RETAIL CENTRES AND PARKS

Inverness has several excellent retail parks with the Inverness Retail and Business Park on the east of the city, the Inshes Retail Park on the southern edge and Telford Retail Park west of the river. Additional developments are expected to bring more stores to the city in the early years of the 21st century. A brand new shopping plaza opens in the centre of the City in 2003, with Debenhams having pride of place.
