World's Biggest Coffee Morning - Registration Come along to the Eastgate Centre on Saturday 4th of September to register to take part in the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. You can help make a huge difference to people affected by cancer, just by getting your friends together. This year we need your help to raise over £8 million. Your fundraising will make a vital difference to the two million people living with cancer in the UK today. Get together with friends, family and colleagues on Friday the 24th of September and raise some money (and a smile) for people affected by cancer. This event will be held on Saturday 4th of September from 10am until 4pm in anticipation for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday the 24th of September. Walk Ten - Join Marie Curie Cancer Care for a late summer evening 10k walk ending at 10pm to celebrate our Nurses. Starting early evening, we’re inviting you, your friends and families to join us and light up the last of 2010’s great British summer evenings on Saturday September 4, 2010. Whilst you finish your walk at 10pm another Marie Curie Nurse will be arriving at the home of a patient. Our nurses work day and night providing expert care and support to people with cancer and other terminal illnesses completely free of charge.So dust off your picnic blanket and settle down with some food and fizz (or a thermos of something hot) after your walk and help us mark the beginning of the next Marie Curie Nursing shift at 10pm.

The Walk Ten event is set within the grounds of the picturesque and historic Beaufort Castle, situated 12 miles west of Inverness. The walk grants exclusive access to this privately owned estate, with our route making the best possible use of the extensive grounds and the magnificent views of the castle itself.The event offers something for every walker, with riverside and woodland walking, open country and arable land. There is also a host of interesting features along the route, such as the summer house, tree house and sculptured gardens. This is the perfect opportunity to experience a wonderful evening of walking and celebration in this most unique and exclusive of locations.

Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running - 5k, 10k and the full marathon are run on Sunday 3rd October.
The Marathon will start on the high ground between Fort Augustus and Foyers (B862) and will drop down to the banks of Loch Ness at Foyers (B852). From there, the route follows the loch's south eastern shore, heading north east towards Dores on the northern tip of the loch. From Dores, the race heads directly into the centre of Inverness (B862), turning left over the main road bridge and left again for the last half mile along the River Ness to the finish at Bught Park. Liet International 2010 - Top European music acts and international media will flock to Inverness this November to engage in one of the most unique song competitions on the European cultural calender.
A cross-European board has selected Inverness in the Scottish Highlands to host the prestigious Liet International Song Competition 2010. Liet International is a song competition for European minority/lesser used languages. The aim of the competition is to facilitate the creation of interesting, contemporary new songs in minority languages and to offer artistes who sing in minority languages an international stage to perform those songs live. Liet International also acts as a platform to showcase the culture, languages and arts of the region hosting the event.
Liet International 2010 will be the 7th year the competition has been held. The event has previously been held in northern Sweden and Friesland, Netherlands. There are 11 acts in the final and they are, in the main, selected through collaboration with several partner organisations across Europe. See www.liet2010.com
